Why should I have my senior portraits made by Hayley Barnes Photography?
There are many reasons, but probably most important is individual attention.  Your senior year in high school is a major
milestone in your life — a milestone deserving of individual attention in creating special images just for you.  At Hayley
Barnes Photography our slogan is "Custom Designed, Uniquely You".  But this is much more than a slogan to us, it's our
approach to all we do each day.  We get to know you individually, have a great time creating custom portraits that
beautifully reflect your unique personality, and we actually remember who you are next time we see you.  You will not find
more personal attention than we will give you.

What are some of the other reasons?
Here are several:    You want your portraits to reflect your unique personality in a creative and beautiful way ... not the
same old cheesy props that nearly everyone else you know have in their senior portraits... you want your creative session
to be fun... you don't want to be limited to only a few outfits (or else pay an arm and a leg for multiple outfit changes)... you
want some "fashion poses" that remind you of what you see in your favorite magazines ... you want a ton of images to
choose from... you want an awesome senior album to show off your pictures to your friends and family... you want artistic
collages or designer album spreads... you want color, black-and-white, sepia and other cool toning options such as our
"modern antique" or "split warm and blue" at no extra charge... you want many awesome product options such as our
fashion photo jewelry by Isabelle Chase Studios ... you want portraits at your favorite location at no extra charge (within 30
miles of our studio) ... the list goes on and on!

Do I have to go to my school's yearbook photographer for my senior pictures?
Absolutely not!  We can take your photo for the yearbook (just bring us the guidelines provided by your school), or you
can go to your school's contract photographer just for your yearbook photo (you don't even need to order any other prints
from them if you do this.) Then come to Hayley Barnes Photography for your "real" senior portraits. This has the additional
benefit of not being tied to the contract studio's early deadlines and rushed sessions — you can schedule your pictures
with us when you want to... summer just before you start your senior year ... fall for some nice outdoor shots ... spring
when you are getting closer to graduation , or even in the winter after you get you letter jacket.

Do you have a limit on the number of outfits I can wear?
No way ... We typically book one AM creative session and one PM creative session each day ... so, you never have to feel
rushed at Hayley Barnes Photography.   It is actually better to bring many outfit choices with you so we can better
coordinate your outfits with various backgrounds.  See our page on
how to look great for more about how to dress for the
best result.

How many poses will I get to pick from?
Each creative session at Hayley Barnes Photography is as unique as the personality of the person we're shooting.
Although we have some favorite poses we will probably try with you, we don't have a standard "cookie cutter" list of poses
that we do and check off as we go.  Your number of images will depend on your personality, attitude and energy level,
your special interests, sports,  or hobbies, and the outfits and props you bring to your session.  If we see something we like
or we have a fresh idea (which is sometimes inspired by the personality of the person we're shooting) we will go with it for a
while.  We don't have a set number of images or even a rigid time limit on our senior sessions.  Typically, we provide 60 to
80 images but this could be well over 100 for some sessions.

Can I bring a friend with me to help with my hair, make-up, etc.?
For sure... Although we don't require you to, this can be a very good idea to help make sure you are looking your best.
And, you may even want your friend to be with you in some of your pictures.

What about props, like my sports uniform/equipment or my band instrument?
Definitely! Also bring your glasses, sunglasses, letter jacket, a denim or leather jacket, hats, stuffed animals, umbrellas,
parasols, scarves, boots, your car or motorcycle (clean and wax it for best result)... Anything that helps portray your
unique personality and your interests and activities... the more stuff you bring, the more variety there will be in your poses
... and remember our aim, "Custom Designed, Uniquely You"

Can I bring my dog or cat with me?
No vicious animals please, otherwise no problem... We are pet owners ourselves and we have photographed many pets.
Please bring someone along to attend to the pet while they are not being photographed with you.  Also, you will need to
bring your own travel kennel or otherwise make provisions for your pet while you are with us.

What if my complexion isn't perfect on the day my photos are scheduled?
Don't worry! Everyone has days with less than perfect skin. Proper make-up application can help bring out your best. But,
after you've selected your poses for printing, part of the "artwork" process we go through with each image involves
removing minor skin blemishes. This is often referred to as "retouching" and is one small part of what is involved in
creating our finished portraits. (Note: severe acne problems and other time-intensive retouching will incur additional
charges)

What about braces?
If you have braces and want them removed in some or all of your portraits, just let us know and we'll discuss the options.

Where are you located?
Our studio is located in League City, Texas.  Travel for outdoor and on-location creative sessions (such as beaches, parks
or gardens, and your own home) is included within a 30-mile radius.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
We offer creative session appointments on Tuesdays through Saturdays from sunrise to sunset outdoors (subject to
weather), and from 9am to 8pm in studio or indoor locations.  We do not accept creative session appointments on
Sundays or Mondays.

What are your prices?
We offer four senior portrait packages.  If these simply do not meet your needs, please let us know and we can work with
you to create a custom package just for you.

What type of equipment do you use?
We use high end professional grade digital cameras, and high quality lenses.  In the studio we use modern professional
strobes and a wide variety of light modifiers.  Our studio backdrops are of the highest quality and are maintained in good
condition.

Do you print your own photos?
No. Unlike some photographers (and even some portrait studios) that print their own pictures using a color printer in the
back room, or the local discount store one-hour photo kiosk, we send all of our images to a highly skilled, professional
portraiture lab for processing. The lab we use works only with professional photographers and enjoys one of the best
reputations for their quality in the business.  This provides the quality and true archival life that you should demand for any
professional portrait.

Do you provide framing for wall portraits?
Absolutely!  We offer many very fine choices in high quality custom portrait frames
